Listening in acting means allowing what the other person does to affect what you do next. It is not waiting quietly for your cue or displaying a listening face.
You can test it by changing the partner’s behaviour. If they suddenly laugh during an accusation, does your next action stay exactly the same, or do you use the new information? Listening may make you press harder, retreat, charm them, punish them, or abandon the plan. The response still comes from your objective, but it adjusts to the person in front of you. Practise by knowing the thought behind your line without fixing its timing. Receive the cue, notice what it means now, and then answer. Presence is not emptiness. It is prepared attention.
